Course Requirements

1. Post responses to the discussion forum before each class. Your response should be one paragraph, not summarizing the work read, but reacting to it. What issues does the reading raise for you? What connections do you see between the readings? Also write down one concrete QUESTION which should show that you have thought about the text and are curious to know more. As we go on, you will be encouraged to alternate posting your own responses with responding to the postings of your classmates from the previous class. (20% of your grade)
2. Three 5-page papers. (40% of your grade)
3. Class participation, including student-led discussions. (20% of your grade)
