This course introduces students to the exciting new experiments of Russian authors reacting to Russia's Golden Age masters. Discussion supplemented by brief lectures will focus on outstanding works representing various styles and techniques developed to give new life to the Russian literary experience. Examples will be chosen from the literatures of decadence, symbolism, utopianism, and socialist realism, as well as the civil war, thaw, protest, and post-Soviet periods. LIT EUR
