RU 152 Russian Modernism RU 152 B College Writing Section: There will be two additional papers assigned for the college writing section. Look at your motet submissions as trial balloons towards a paper topic--what works, what doesn't, what do you find interesting enough to pursue further? Since the purpose of this exercise is writing rather than publication (though publication-worthy writing will certainly not be discouraged), please base your papers on your own reading of the text rather than on criticism. You will share your papers with the others in the college writing section and comment on how the first drafts can be improved. Papers will be due on the following dates: Mar. 5 first draft on Chekhov, Sologub, or Bely (5 pages) Mar. 19 OR 29 (before or after break) first draft of midterm paper due
(5-7 pages). You may write this paper EITHER on the assigned topic OR on a topic from Babel or Zamyatin. April 19 first draft on Bulgakov, Master and Margarita (5 pages) May 7: final paper due (5-7 pages) | ||
